PSG striker Edinson Cavani booked for paying tribute to the 71 Chapecoense plane crash victims (Watch)

Edinson Cavani paid tribute to the 71 victims of the Chapecoense plane crash on Wednesday evening and was subsequently booked.

The Paris Saint-Germain striker converted from the spot after Hatem Ben Arfa was brought down by Angers defender Romain Thomas’s clumsy challenge.

The Uruguayan then removed his top to reveal a t-shirt with a tribute to the Brazilian club, but was booked for displaying the message.

Chapecoense were on their way to battle Atletico Nacional for the Copa Sudamericana when their aircraft ran out of fuel on Monday evening. Just six of the 77 people — including players, club officials and journalists — on board survived.
