FOR ONE-MINUTE MEN: PREMATURE EJACULATION (PE)
Premature ejaculation is defined as ejaculation (‘cumming’) that occurs sooner than desired, either before or shortly after penetration, causing distress to either one or both partners.
The exact cause of PE is unknown. However, psychological, behavioristic and biogenic causes have been proposed.
Medical treatment of Premature Ejaculation – Any one of the following drugs can help:

1. Paroxetine (an SSRI) – 10, 20, 40 mg once daily or 20 mg taken 3 to 4 hours before sex.
2. Fluoxetine (an SSRI) – 5 to 20 mg once daily.
3. Sertraline (an SSRI) – 25 to 200 mg once daily or 50 mg 4 to 8 hours before sex.
4. Clomipramine (NSSRI) – 25 to 50 mg once daily or 25 mg 4 to 24 hours before sex.
5. 2.5% Lidocaine/2.5% Prilocaine Cream (EMLA cream) – apply sufficient amount on your penis 20 to 30 minutes before sex.
The treatment for PE is continous or on demand/requirement basis. There is no strong evidence that these drugs can cure PE permanently.
The most common side effects of SSRIs are dry mouth, drowsiness and decreased sexual libido.
