2015Election: Options Before Nigerians Is Like Choosing Between “Life and Death” – Fayose.
Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has described the February 14 presidential election as a choice between life and death.
The governor in another statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Idowu Adelusi, on Sunday, insisted that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) at 72, “is too old and sick to be elected the president of the country”.
Fayose recalled that Gen. Murtala Muhammed, Gen. Sani Abacha and Alhaji Umaru Yar ‘Adua all died in office as Nigerian leaders.
“Incidentally, all of them hailed from the North-West geo-political zone like Buhari”, he added.
The Ekiti governor advised Nigerians to vote wisely by returning President Goodluck Jonathan, reiterating his position that the North should wait its turn till 2019 when it would be able to produce a credible, healthy, vibrant and energetic leader.
Fayose also berated his Lagos State counterpart, Mr Babatunde Fashola (SAN), for saying the Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship candidate in Lagos, Mr Jimi Agbaje, at 57, was too old to rule Lagos.
“What can we say of Buhari at 72, an old horse, whose Fashola’s party has put forward to govern Nigeria?
“Where will Buhari find the energy? This implies that the sponsors of Buhari want Nigeria to return to the days of Umaru Yar’Adua which later produce Jonathan”, he stated.
