Ahmed Ahmed beats Issa Hayatou to become new CAF president

Ahmed Ahmed has just beat Cameroonian Issa Hayatou by 34 to 20 votes and emerged the new president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Ahmed's win brings Issa Hayatou's 29 year reign as CAF president to an end.



The election held today in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia where Issa faced his strongest opponent in the history of CAF presidential elections, Ahmad Ahmad of Madagascar to see who will rule football on the continent for the next 4 years.
